正法眼蔵 辨道話（ ５４）
いはんや真言宗 singon-syu のごときは
.................ましてや、真言宗です
.................And more importantly, it's a Shingon sect.
毘盧 biru 遮那 syana 如来 nyo-rai したしく
金剛 kon-go 薩埵 sa-ta につたえへて
師資 si-si みだりならず
.................毘盧遮那如来が菩薩に伝えたものです
.................It was passed down to the bodhisattva by Vairocana Buddha.
.................由緒正しきものです
.................It's venerable.
その談ずるむね
.................真言宗の宗旨はこうです
.................The Shingon sect of Buddhism is as follows
即心 soku-sin 是仏 ze-butu
.................この自分の心が、そのまま仏の心である
.................This mind of mine is the mind of the Buddha as it is.
是心 ze-sin 作仏 sa-butu といふて
.................この自分の心をもって、仏の心を行ずる
.................With this mind of mine, I execution the mind of the Buddha.
多劫 ta-go の修行をふることなく
.................幾年幾十年の修行をせずとも
.................Even without years and decades of practice
一座に五仏の正覚をとなふ
.................すぐさま、仏の心身に至る事が出来る
.................Immediately, you can attain the body and soul of a Buddha.
仏法の極妙 goku-myo といふべし
.................これは、仏の教えの究極ではないでしょうか
.................Isn't this the ultimate in the Buddha's teachings?
しかあるに、いまいふところの修行
.................それなのに、あなたは坐禅をお勧めなされる
.................And yet, you recommend zazen.
なにのすぐれたることあれば
かれらをさしおきて
ひとへにこれをすすむるや。」
.................何が良くて、それらをさしおいて、
.................坐禅をお勧めなされるのですか
.................What is so good about zazen
.................that you recommend it over them?
