しかあればすなはち
...........................以上のことから分かるように
...........................As can be seen from the above
即心 soku-sin 即仏 soku-butu のことば
...........................この自分の心が、そのまま仏の心である
...........................This mind of mine is the mind of the Buddha as it is.
なほこれ水中の月なり
...........................言葉は魅力的ですが
...........................Words are alluring, but
...........................水面に映った月
...........................moon reflected on the water
...........................レストランのお品書きです
...........................That's just the restaurant's menu
即坐 soku-za 成仏 zyo-butu のむね
...........................坐ればすぐに仏になれる
...........................As soon as you sit, you become a Buddha.
さらに又かがみのうちのかげなり
...........................これは、鏡の中の影のようなものです
...........................This is like a shadow in a mirror
ことばのたくみにかかはるべからず
...........................紙の上では良く見えます
...........................Looks good on paper
...........................美しい言葉に酔ってはいけません
...........................Don't get drunk on beautiful words.
...........................一方、坐禅の言葉はどうでしょう
...........................On the other hand,
...........................what about the language of zazen
...........................足の親指の内側へ、気合いを入れる時
...........................Time to put your spirit into inside of the big toe
...........................眉間を虚とする
...........................The emptiness of the glabella
...........................これが対称をなす
...........................This makes symmetrical
...........................坐禅における、この緩急
...........................In zazen, this slow and steady
...........................これは、活きた言葉と言えます
...........................This can be called a living word!
