坐禅では
In Zazen
身体の先端は 「 生 」 で、身体の中心は 「 死 」 と言えます
We can say that
the tip of body is "life" and the center of body is "death.
活きた身体の先端、それに対する身体の中心
The active tip of the body, the center of the body to it
その関係は、坐禅ではこうはなりません
That relationship does not happen this way in zazen!
緩急、濃淡、強弱
Slow and fast, shading, strength and weakness
それはスポーツや芸能の世界では有効と言えます
That can be valid in the world of sports and entertainment.
坐禅では身体の先端が 「 生 」 で、中心は 「 死 」 となります
中心が圧倒的静寂だから、釣り合うのです
In Zazen
the tip of body is "life" and the center is "death.
It is balanced by the overwhelming silence at the center!
これが坐禅の坐禅たる所以です
This is why zazen is zazen!
坐禅は仏教と認識されています
Zazen is recognized as Buddhist
しかし、坐禅の中には
However, in zazen
キリストの十字架上の「死」が再現されています
Christ's "death" on the cross is recreated
神々に死があろうはずがありません
There can be no death to the gods.
復活は自明の理で、疑う余地はありません
The resurrection is self-evident and unquestionable.
その神の中の神が、人の身体の中で死を経験なされた
God in God experienced death in the body of man.
キリストは神々の中で唯一
人の身体の中で経験される死を、経験なされたと言えます
Christ is the only one among the gods
Death experienced in the human body
We can say that he experienced
何故、そのような事をなされたのでしょう
Why did he do it?
一度きりの人生、今ここを大事に生きよう
You only live once
Live in the here and now.
一見、まともな思考です
Seemingly sane thoughts.
いかし、その前提はこうです
but,The premise is this
「 死んだら、お終い 」
If you die, you're done.
活きてる間に、やりたい事をする
Do what we want to do while we're still alive.
そう続きます
This leads us to this
皆やりたい事が違うので、もめるのは必至です
Everyone wants to do different things,
so it is inevitable that they will compete.
もめてると、何をしてるんですか？ となります
What are you doing when we're fighting? will be
見てられない、と続くでしょう
Unwatchable, it goes on like that.
キリストは神々の中で唯一、
人の身体の中で経験される死を経験なされた
Christ is the only one of the gods
who experienced death in a human body.
何故、そのような事をなされたのでしょう
Why did he do it?
一度きりの人生と言う迷妄が、地獄を現出せしめてる
The delusion that we only live once makes hell appear.
自ら範を示して、その迷妄を打破する必要があった
Setting an example for us, He needed to break through that delusion.
人は、神に似せて創られたのなら
If man is created in the image of God, then
私達の命は永遠に似てる、となります
if so, our lives are like eternity,
しかし私達が所有してるのは、
永遠に似たもので、永遠ではありません
But what we possess is
something akin to eternity, not eternity.
この永遠の扉は自ら開けねばなりません
We must open this eternal door by ourselves.
どのようにして開くのでしょう
How does it open?
「死の門」を行き来したなら、
死が幻影であると確信出来ます
If you have been to and from the Gates of Death,
you can be sure that death is an illusion.

中心が圧倒的静寂だから、釣り合うのです
In Zazen

私達は坐禅を通して、
十字架上の死と復活を経験すると言えます
Through zazen, we can
We can say that
we experience death on the cross and resurrection
しかし、「死の門」「圧倒的静寂」
However、 Gates of Death、overwhelming silence
その現出には、その対称が必要です
Its manifestation requires its symmetry
何かを、単体では呼び出せません
Something cannot be called out on a stand-alone basis.
勇猛果敢な坐禅の中に、静寂が宿ります
In the midst of the brave and daring zazen, tranquility dwells.
勇猛さ静寂さのレベルを上げます
Raise its level of bravery and quietness
バラバラ粉々になって、死に帰す
Shattered into pieces and left to die
そのレベルまで静寂を深めるわけです
So we deepen the silence to that level.
