頭で天を衝き、腰を大地に埋める
With your head, hit the sky. Bury your waist in the earth
坐禅は、ルカによる福音書の祈りそのものと言えます
Zazen can be said to be the very prayer of the Gospel of Luke
天に栄光がありますように 地には平和がありますように
May there be glory in heaven. May there be peace on earth.
頭で天を衝き、腰を大地に埋める
With your head, hit the sky. Bury your waist in the earth
こう私達が坐る時、私達は身体に埋没していません
Thus when we sit, we are not buried in the body
身体に埋没せず、また天に飛び出しててもいません
It is not buried in the body, nor is it jutting out into the heavens.
身体の輪郭線、身体の際に立っています
Outline of the body、Standing on the end of the body
この時、私達は何に結びついているのでしょう
