われらが行持によりて

正法眼蔵 行持 （ ４ ）
このゆゑに、諸仏諸祖の行持によりて
われらが行持見成 gen-zyo し
われらが大道通達するなり
われらが行持によりて、諸仏の行持見成し
諸仏の大道通達するなり
白日のもと、目や耳で感じる私達の環境
Our environment under the light of day,
felt with our eyes and ears
そこから離れ、坐禅の骨格の中に沈む
away from it and sink into the skeleton of zazen.
夜、西の空に沈んだ太陽を追うように
At night, following the sun setting in the western sky
目には見えない真夜中の太陽に親しむ
Become familiar with the invisible Midnight Sun
五感には何も映らなくても、私達は感じます
Even if our senses don't see anything, we feel it.
何て、美しいんでしょう
What a beauty!
夏の木々の空気と青い空
Summer air in the trees and blue sky
神々は、機械的に創り続けてるのでしょうか
Do the gods continue to create mechanically?
地上に、「 何て、美しいんでしょう 」
と感動する人がいるから
神々は宇宙を創造し続けていける
Because there are people on earth
who are moved by the beauty of the universe.
The gods can continue to create the universe
